KMF would like to recognise the recent accomplishment of Business Development Manager, Travers Wallet, who helped the Donna Louise Children's Hospice raise a record-breaking amount for the families who need their support.
Travers was part of a 24 strong team who took on the gruelling challenge of rowing from Tower Bridge in London to the Eifel Tower in Paris. In total the journey took 7 days and the team rowed over 450 nautical miles.
With an ambitious original target set of £90,000, it is fair to say that the team 'smashed it' as donations flooded in totalling over £250,000. This is the largest amount of money that the Hospice has raised from a single event.
In addition to the monetary value, the charity also benefitted from the positive media attention that surrounded the challenge. This alone is a great asset for them, as it is hoped that support from further afield is received to keep this fantastic facility going.
Travers is rightfully proud of his achievement stating, "It was a great opportunity; I met some fantastic people that I will remain in contact with. The Hospice offer vital support to families who need their care and it was great for me to be able to do my bit to help."
