As Headline Sponsors, KMF were fully supportive of the prestigious Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Apprentice Graduation Ceremony held at Staffordshire County Showground on the 22nd July 2015.

The purpose of the event, organised by Stoke-On-Trent and Staffordshire County Council, was to celebrate the success of Apprentices, throughout the region, who had successfully completed their Advanced or Higher Apprenticeship.

As well as recognising the achievements of the individuals involved, it is hoped by Government, that events of this ilk will help change the way Apprenticeships are perceived, promoting this vocational path as an equivalent option to the university route.

Skills Minister Nick Boles commented, "These graduation ceremonies will recognise and reward the success of our apprentices and by doing so, will raise the profile and quality of Apprenticeships."

On the day, KMF were proud to see nine of their own Apprentices graduate, Jenny Conlon, Training Centre Manager stated, "It has been a fabulous day and KMF's Apprentices all looked very smart in their gowns. It has been great for them all to share this commemorative experience with their family and friends.

"We do hold our own Apprentice Awards on an annual basis at Britannia Stadium, but I believe being part of today's graduation has helped reinforce the importance of their Apprenticeship.

"For young people it is no longer the decision of University or an Apprenticeship, the decision is simply which route do I take to obtain the same level of qualification? Apprenticeships may take a little longer, but these individuals are earning and learning a trade at the same time as furthering their education."

One-hundred and fifty-six Apprentices graduated at the event and guest speakers included Peter Latchford OBE, Rebecca Bryant Deputy Chief Executive for Staffordshire Fire & Rescue, John Myers Head of Employers & Delivery Services for The Skills Funding Agency and Anna Halliday Commissioner for Education and Wellbeing Staffordshire County Council.

We are already looking forward to next year!
