KMF achieved ISO 14001 accreditation during February 2003. We are committed to protecting the environment and controlling the usage of resources in manufacturing and related activities through continuous improvement of our significant environmental aspects.
To achieve these goals, environmental management programs comply with relevant environmental legislation rules and regulations. The environmental management systems define objectives and targets for prevention and reduction of pollution in manufacturing, and related processes to safeguard adverse impacts on the environment.
KMF are compliant with the European Union's (EU's) RoHS (Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances), REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals) Regulation and WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directives, which require the reduction and/or removal of a number of hazardous substances, including lead and other materials, from most electronic components, products and assemblies. KMF's statements of compliance for both RoHS and REACH are accessible from the downloads link.
One of our Environmental Objectives for 2010 is to work in conjunction with our customers and suppliers to monitor our compliance with the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2007.
